I am professional musician since 1994, graduated as classical violin player at the Lisbon College of Music (ESML). Besides classical music, I play also folk music and try to adapt my playing to different music styles.
I was born in Portugal in 78. Son of a great musician and born already with a brother also great musician that both made my road in music more natural, and are now more and more among my sources for inspiration. My mother gave and keeps giving optimism and wisedom.
I was granted the Gulbenkian music scholarship during conservatoire violin studies and in 2000 I was invited to represent Portugal in a international folk music meeting in Brittany, France. Later I received important award and nominations with bands I play with, among them the «German Record Critics’ Award» ( 2009 and 2013 ) and two nominations to the Swesidh Folk & World Music Awards, and also nominated to the Songlines Music Awards 2010, both with Stockholm Lisboa Project.
Since 1998 I've been touring around Europe, Canada, South Korea and China with different projects. Shared the stage with important names of Portuguese music like Mariza, Laurent Filipe, Carlos do Carmo, Camane, Mario Delgado, Bernardo Sasseti, Mario Laginha, among other great musicians, in orchestra or smaller bands. Jaques Morelenbaum, Caetano Veloso, Johan Hedin, Björn Meyer...
Besides instrumental career I am also choir conductor, teacher and webdesigner.
